Building resilience and sustainable futures through local leadership
Welcome to Local Efforts for Advancement & Development
LEAD was established in 2019 by young female diaspora South Sudanese who experienced firsthand the suffering of war and displacement. After South Sudan gained independence, these women returned home with a vision to contribute to sustainable peace and development in their country.
Â
What began as individual contributions to support vulnerable rural youth with education evolved into a formalized organization addressing the root causes of preventable human suffering. We registered as a national NGO with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) under the 2016 NGO Act of South Sudan.
Â
As members of the communities we serve, we understand the challenges facing South Sudan and work alongside our people to build pathways from humanitarian aid to sustainable resilience.
